pelvic relief
We are excited to announce our partnership with Pelvic Relief, a UK-based intimate health company dedicated to providing evidence-based solutions for women’s genitourinary and sexual health. Alongside therapeutic tools, lubricants and moisturisers, Pelvic Relief offers an at-home Vaginal Microbiome Test using Precision Microbiome Profiling (a qPCR-based approach), alongside Ultimate V and Ultimate UT, a range of strain-specific probiotics formulated to support a healthy, Lactobacillus-dominant vaginal and bladder microbiome. The Vaginal Microbiome has a significant influence on a woman’s genitourinary health. An imbalanced microbiome has been associated with persistent conditions such as Bacterial Vaginosis (BV), UTIs, HPV and thrush, poorer fertility outcomes, exacerbation of inflammatory conditions endometriosis and endometritis and GSM (Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause symptoms). Vaginal Microbiome results can give women the insight they need to make personalised and effective interventions to support their health goals. Pelvic Relief works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure test results are interpreted in the context of each patient’s full clinical picture, not in isolation. Their probiotic range is formulated using the specific Lactobacillus strains most consistently found in a healthy vaginal microbiome, not generic gut-derived strains, so recommendations are grounded in strain-level evidence rather than broad probiotic claims.
Who we are Pelvic Relief has been operating for over ten years now, founded by Eleanor Gardner, and exists to make science-backed intimate health solutions accessible, without stigma. We introduced the microbiome led care products in May 2025 acknowledging the exciting research in this space for women health, summarised well by this MHRA report (August 2025) titled The untapped potential of vaginal microbiome diagnostics for improving women’s health.
What Pelvic Relief do Vaginal Microbiome Testing Our at-home Vaginal Microbiome Test provides absolute quantification of 53 different microbial species from a single low vaginal swab, split across five categories: beneficial bacteria (14 strains, including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species), opportunistic yeast (6 strains), opportunistic anaerobic bacteria (23 strains, associated with bacterial vaginosis), opportunistic aerobic bacteria (7 strains, linked to UTIs and inflammatory symptoms), and Ureaplasma/Mycoplasma (3 strains). The test is designed for anyone experiencing chronic thrush, bacterial vaginosis (BV), aerobic vaginitis (AV), recurring UTIs, fertility challenges, PCOS, endometriosis, genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), or unexplained vaginal symptoms such as itching, burning or pain. Patients receive a clear, easy-to-interpret report within 7 working days of the sample reaching our lab, designed to be reviewed alongside a healthcare practitioner, giving you a precise, evidence-based starting point for a targeted treatment plan.
Ultimate V & Ultimate UT Probiotics Ultimate V and Ultimate UT are built around the same patented blend of four vaginal Lactobacillus strains, L. crispatus, L. rhamnosus, L. gasseri and L. jensenii, each selected for documented urogenital benefit. These strains work by producing lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide to maintain the vaginal pH between 3.7–4.5, competitively excluding pathogens from epithelial binding sites, and supporting the vaginal mucosal barrier.
- Ultimate V: a daily maintenance capsule (5bn CFU, plus biotin) supporting a Lactobacillus-dominant microbiome. Vegan, dairy- and gluten-free, and safe in pregnancy.
- Ultimate UT: the same four-strain blend in a daily sachet, plus 2g D-mannose to inhibit E. coli adhesion to the urothelium, for patients prone to recurrent UTIs. Both are backed by research spanning bacterial vaginosis, pregnancy, oncology and transgender care. Dr Jo Bailey, Consultant Gynaecologist, notes: “I now recommend Ultimate UT and Ultimate V to my patients as these contain the specific lactobacilli associated with vaginal health.”
