Our modern Western lifestyle has meant we are frequently under more stress & tension, which can cause our Qi (energy) to become stuck at different points in the body. This can cause fatigue, difficulty sleeping, digestive issues, and pain, affecting our emotional and physical wellbeing.
Acupuncture is thousands of years old, based on a system consisting of specific points running along meridian lines through the body. Acupuncture taps into these systems helping to rebalance and harmonise the emotional and physical body.

Rachel originally trained as a marine scientist and has always had a fascination with the sea, nature, its cycles and processes and our role within this natural world. Rachel has always had an avid interest in holistic health, and health practices from the East; such as yoga and the importance of the mind-body connection that is taught in both TCM and Ayurvedic cultures. Rachel feels these thousand-year-old cultures have a lot to teach us here in the West, and science and research are slowly catching up to the wisdom and knowledge revered so highly in these ancient cultures. After receiving acupuncture in her early twenties and seeing how successful it is in treating a wide variety of ailments, it became Rachel’s go-to method for maintaining health and wellness. Rachel is fully licensed by the Torridge, Devon Council and fully insured to practice. In 2022 Rachel studied Traditional Chinese Medicine & five element acupuncture at the Healing and Acupuncture College (HAC) in Bath. Rachel has received her Certificate of Acupuncture from the Healing and Acupuncture College which was founded by Jamie Hedger. Jamie Hedger, runs a successful college in Bath, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and five-element practices, combining traditional and modern principles. Offering treatments in Torrington and Bideford, Rachel is using Acupuncture and cupping. Rachel strives to learn more and is continually undergoing further study to gain her Diploma in 2025 alongside another continued development course in Mycology (study of medicinal mushrooms).
