About the Practitioner – Chung
I am a UK-trained acupuncturist based in St Albans, with a clinical focus on chronic pain, stress-related conditions, fatigue, and nervous system regulation.
I work with people experiencing ongoing symptoms that may not always show clearly in medical tests—such as persistent pain, low energy, poor sleep, or a general sense of being out of balance—but which still have a significant impact on daily life.
With a background in architecture and technical problem-solving, my approach to acupuncture is both structured and systemic. Rather than seeing acupuncture points only as having individual functions, I understand them as part of an integrated network within the body, working together to support regulation and restore balance. My aim is to identify and treat the underlying patterns in the body, rather than focusing only on isolated symptoms or diagnostic labels.
Many patients come to me after trying different approaches without lasting results. My role is to support the body in gradually restoring balance, helping to improve energy, sleep, resilience, and overall wellbeing over time.
*My current patient work includes support for people living with:
• multiple sclerosis (MS)
• chronic fatigue, PTSD
• neurological pain
• eczema, allodynia
• knee, back, elbow, and shoulder pain
• constipation, IBS
• menopause-related symptoms
• infertility, fibroid
I view treatment as a process rather than a quick fix. For long-term conditions, consistent care and a clear understanding of the body’s underlying patterns are often essential.
*Clinical Approach
Treatment is collaborative, structured, and tailored to the individual. When assessing a condition, I consider not only the main symptom, but also how the nervous system and the body as a whole are responding. This allows treatment to support both short-term relief and longer-term stability. I approach care across three interconnected layers:
• the presenting symptom
• how the nervous system and body are responding
• underlying patterns that may contribute to recurrence
Working across these layers helps create a treatment plan that is coherent, practical, and adaptable over time.
*Education, Volunteer & Professional Standards

• Clinical training at Nanjing Hospital, China

• Registered member of the Acupuncture Regulatory Authority (ARA)
